Ambetter by Fidelis
Many insurances have been rebranding, now in 2024, so is Fidelis. Ambetter will be the new name of Fidelis’s qualified health plans (QHPs) which can also be identified as the “metal” plans (i.e. bronze, silver, etc.). Plans that will not be included in the rebranding include managed Medicaid, child health plus, long term care, essentials, and HARP.
What does this mean for your practice?
If you are currently contracted with Fidelis, the provider network will not change due to the rebrand, no provider action is necessary.
What does my staff need to know?
The updated card does still have Fidelis on it, so check in staff should recognize that the payer can still be setup as Fidelis. If you are contracted with Fidelis, you are considered an in-network provider with Ambetter.
Will there be a change in benefits?
QHPs are updated annually in various ways, the changes would be no different than any other annual update. You should always double check benefits, prior to seeing patients, when a new year has begun.
